About Me

The 20-Year Overnight Success (and the Year that Almost Derailed It)

Hello there! I’m so glad you found your way to this corner of the internet. If you’re looking for a fitness guru who has never tasted a donut or a “wellness influencer” who lives in a permanent state of zen, you might be in the wrong place.

But if you’re looking for someone who has spent the last two plus decades (yes, 20+ actual years) grinding through every iteration of the BODi (formerly Beachbody) ecosystem, then pull up a chair. I am what you might call a “Beachbody OG.” I was pressing play on DVDs back when we still had corded house phones. For twenty plus years, I’ve used these programs to build a foundation of strength that I thought was just about “staying in shape.”

It turns out, I was actually training for the fight of my life.

2025: The Year Everything (and Nothing) Changed

In early 2025, life decided to hand me a script I never auditioned for: a cancer diagnosis.

I spent seven weeks in the trenches of chemotherapy and radiation. If you’ve never had the pleasure, let’s just say it’s a “workout” that makes Insanity feel like a nap in a hammock. There were days when “resilience” felt like a buzzword and “survival” felt like a full-time job.

But here is the thing about building a 20-year foundation: it doesn’t just disappear when the storm hits. Because I had spent two decades prioritizing my health, my body knew how to fight. In fact, I had spent twenty years practicing the art of showing up when I didn’t feel like it. Cancer was just the ultimate ‘un-fun’ version of that habit.

I’m standing here in 2026, officially cancer-free, and I’ve realized something vital. Life is too short for “someday.” This blog is my therapeutic creative outlet, my victory lap, and my invitation to you. Whether you are 22 and just starting out or 62 and looking for a second wind, I’m here to show you that a “Full Life” isn’t a destination, it’s a daily practice.

My Manifesto for a Full Life

Post-cancer life isn’t just about surviving; it’s about intentional design. Once I was declared cancer-free, I took a hard look at the foundation I’d built over the last 20 years and decided to fortify it. I realized that treatment has a way of stripping away the “busy work” of life, leaving only what actually matters.

I didn’t just walk back into my old life; I emerged with a ruthless clarity. It was as if someone finally turned the volume down on the world’s noise so I could actually hear my own heart. I distilled everything I learned in the trenches into four core pillars. These aren’t just “good ideas.” They are the structural steel that kept me upright when the world felt like it was folding. If an opportunity or a habit doesn’t fit into this framework, it doesn’t get a seat at my table anymore.

I. Health (The Multiplier)

Health is the foundation that makes everything else possible. It isn’t about hitting a specific number on a scale; it’s the multiplier for your energy, your mood, and your presence. When I was going through chemo, my health was the only currency that mattered. I don’t exercise because I hate my body; I exercise because I love my life and want to be capable of enjoying every bit of it. I’ve found the tools through BODi to keep my “multiplier” high, ensuring I have the vitality to show up for the people and projects I love.

II. Family (The North Star)

When life gets chaotic, your North Star tells you which way to go. For me, that’s my family. In those treatment rooms, I wasn’t thinking about a career; I was thinking about being there for the milestones, the quiet mornings, and the messy dinner table conversations. Every decision I make now is filtered through one question: “Does this give me more or less quality time with my people?” This blog exists to support a life where family always comes first, not as a leftover after work.

III. Wealth (The Tool for Freedom)

Wealth is often misunderstood as a scoreboard, but I see it as a Tool for Freedom. True wealth is “calm money,” the kind that buys you options and peace of mind. It is about having enough to say “no” to things that drain you and “yes” to experiences that fill you up. By sharing the tools that helped me stay strong, I’m able to generate a revenue stream that fuels my lifestyle without requiring me to sacrifice my health or my time with family to get it.

IV. Fulfillment (The Creative Fire)

Fulfillment is the Creative Fire that keeps you from just going through the motions. We all need a “why” that isn’t attached to a bill or a chore. For me, that fire comes from storytelling and helping others realize they are more resilient than they think. This blog is my way of turning my 2025 “mess” into a message. When you find what lights you up, you don’t just exist; you thrive.

10 Fun Facts About Me

  • The Irony: I can survive 7 weeks of radiation, but I still harbor a deep, personal grudge against “Yoga X.” I love it, but I hate it.
  • Coffee Ratio: My blood type is currently “Dark Roast.”
  • The BODi Veteran: I still remember the smell of the original P90X guidebook.
  • Music Taste: My playlist is a chaotic mix of 90s hip-hop, classic rock, grunge, and whatever my kids are listening at the moment.
  • Kitchen Skills: I’m a world-class expert at making “healthy” brownies that almost actually taste like brownies (almost).
  • Resilience Tool: I’ve found that a well-timed “dad joke” can cure almost any bad mood.
  • The Comeback: My first post-cancer workout was 5 minutes long. I celebrated it like I’d won an Olympic gold.
  • Bucket List: I’m finally prioritizing travel because “later” is no longer a guarantee.
  • Daily Habit: I pick one “Theme Song” for the day and listen to it on full volume. It is hard to have a bad Tuesday when you’ve already peaked during a air-guitar solo to Smashing Pumpkins.
  • Biggest Pet Peeve: People who don’t put their shopping carts back in the corral. I am quietly judging you!
